Supercar with evolution: Pagani Tempesta Package, your ultimate upgrade at the same price

A Pagani owner customized his Huayra with the coveted Tempesta Package: you get more power and more carbon fiber, but it costs the same as a supercar.

Priced the same as a fresh superca, the Pagani Tempesta Package is the Ultimate Upgrade. Starting at $2.4 million, the Pagani Huayra is one of the most expensive supercars money can buy and owners are willing to fork out even more cash to make it unique.

Mind you, this one owner in the US went all out, spending an exorbitant amount of money on something called the ‘Tempesta Package’.

Named after the Italian word for thunderstorm, the Tempesta Package is designed to make your Huayra look like the Pagani Zonda Cinque.

For the exterior, you get a new carbon fiber front splitter and a redesigned rear section, with a larger diffuser and a six-pipe exhaust system.

Pagani will also upgrade the suspension and, more importantly, the engine.

As standard, the Huayra’s 6.0-liter V12 puts out 754 hp but with the Tempesta Package, the power output goes up to 827 hp and 811 lb-ft of torque.

With a $180,000 price tag, the Tempesta Package is an optional extra that costs more than a long list of fast and exciting cars.

The V10-powered Audi R8 supercar, for example, starts at around $160,000.

What’s next for Pagani? After launching the Zonda in 1999, Pagani changed the supercar market in a couple of different ways.

Pagani launches a new supercar every ten years or so, but each model spawns a plethora of limited-edition versions.

It’s a long and rich list, from the Huayra Tricolore (below) to the $17 million Zonda HP Barchetta.

And then second, the brand unapologetically raised the bar when it comes to supercar pricing.

Supercars have never been cheap but Pagani normalized a seven-figure price tag for the cars and six-figure price tags for the extras.

And that’s how you end up with a $180,000 package.
